✨ What is Radha Ashtami?
Radha Ashtami is a holy Hindu festival that celebrates the appearance day of Goddess Radha Rani, the beloved of Lord Krishna. It falls on the Ashtami (eighth day) of Shukla Paksha in Bhadrapada month, which in 2025 will be observed with great devotion in August–September.
Radha Rani is regarded as the symbol of pure love and devotion (bhakti). Her bond with Krishna represents the eternal connection between the soul and the Supreme Divine.

🌷 Radha Ashtami Story – The Birth of Radharani
According to sacred texts, Radha Rani was born in Barsana to King Vrishabhanu and Queen Kirti. Unlike ordinary children, she did not open her eyes at birth.
One day, Nanda Maharaj visited Vrishabhanu’s home with little Krishna. The moment baby Radha saw Krishna, She opened Her eyes for the first time. This symbolizes that Radha’s existence was inseparable from Krishna, and She came into this world only to spread divine love.

🌼 Significance of Radha Ashtami
Radha Rani is worshipped as the Supreme Goddess of Bhakti (devotion). Without Radha, Krishna’s pastimes remain incomplete — this is why devotees always say “Radha-Krishna” and not just Krishna alone.
Her presence teaches us that devotion should be unconditional, selfless, and filled with compassion. Celebrating Radha Ashtami reminds us to surrender our ego and connect with God through love.
