Methi na Gota (fenugreek fritters) are fluffy, spiced besan fritters packed with fresh methi leaves, deep-fried till golden. Crisp outside, airy inside, they’re addictive with green chutney—especially on rainy days!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups besan (gram flour)
  • 1 cup fresh methi (fenugreek leaves), chopped
  • 2 tbsp sooji (optional, for crispiness)
  • 2 tbsp yogurt
  • 1 tsp ginger-green chili paste
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Water as needed

Method:

  1. Mix all ingredients except oil and water. Add water for a thick, dropping batter.
  2. Rest for 10–15 min. Heat oil in a kadhai.
  3. Drop spoonfuls of batter into hot oil. Fry on medium flame until puffed and golden.
  4. Drain and serve hot with chutney and fried green chilies.

Tips:

  • Use only fresh methi for authentic flavor.
  • Batter should be thick enough to hold shape while frying.
