Methi na Gota (fenugreek fritters) are fluffy, spiced besan fritters packed with fresh methi leaves, deep-fried till golden. Crisp outside, airy inside, they’re addictive with green chutney—especially on rainy days!
Ingredients:
- 2 cups besan (gram flour)
- 1 cup fresh methi (fenugreek leaves), chopped
- 2 tbsp sooji (optional, for crispiness)
- 2 tbsp yogurt
- 1 tsp ginger-green chili paste
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep frying
- Water as needed
Method:
- Mix all ingredients except oil and water. Add water for a thick, dropping batter.
- Rest for 10–15 min. Heat oil in a kadhai.
- Drop spoonfuls of batter into hot oil. Fry on medium flame until puffed and golden.
- Drain and serve hot with chutney and fried green chilies.
Tips:
- Use only fresh methi for authentic flavor.
- Batter should be thick enough to hold shape while frying.
